We haven't had an update of the Frenchboro garden in a while and there's a lot going on down there. The kids have been diligently watering and weeding. Well...maybe not always weeding. But things are really starting to look good down there. Good and edible. Here's one of the little beds in the school plot. We've got peas, beans, bok choy, chard and a couple spinach and lettuce plants.
No, we did not start these pumpkins from seed in the garden. Cadin's mom, Katie, obviously has a green thumb and big toe, because look at these babies. Huge and healthy, just the way we like em. We're lucky we have generous and talented parents here in Frenchboro who are always giving us awesome things like these pumpkin plants.
Here everyone is crowded around Cadin's plot, helping him weed. I call his plot the 'lettuce garden' as he has five different types of lettuce, and lots of it. He planted several packets as he wasn't too keen on many of the vegetable choices. So, if you're hankering for a mixed salad, he's your man.
Teressa has been keeping her plot tended nicely. I think it's up to her since Johnny's always running around weeding everyone else's bed besides his own. Her sunflowers are looking good and I saw some flowers on her peas just yesterday when I was down at the garden. Can't wait until we get to harvest some veggies!
