The Sunbeam came on Tuesday, bearing more than the usual gifts of good food and cribbage matches: Monhegan School! Yep...there's the entire school right there. Dalton, Quinn, and their teacher, Jessie. They were here to spend the day with us!
We did our usual greeting line, though most of us know each other.
Jessie did some awesome improv games with us in the afternoon, after a rousing hockey game (I have no pictures as it was blowing snow sideways.)
We did some warm ups. Here everyone is pretending to throw balls to each other.
Then we walked on tightropes...some of us better than others!
Some fun games were introduced by Jessie and Quinn. The kids got to choose what characters they should be and where the scene would take place.
Then there was the competition for attention where each player was given a topic and they would try to win the judges attention by their description of their topic. I think Cody and Dylan had to talk about unicorns and rainbows.
It was such a great day that we were sad to see Monhegan School go! The weather was getting pretty nasty by the time they headed out, but they made it to their next stop, Islesford School, safe and sound. We're going to try to meet next week on our polycom for a poetry lesson...stay tuned!
