Saturday night was the culmination of a week's worth of hard work by Frenchboro students as they put on their big performance. The theme was an old time radio show, our call letters WHYO Frenchboro Radio. The students sang, performed on the percussion and string instruments, as well as shared original stories that they had created that answered the question: How Did Long Island Come to Be? Some of the creation myths talked of a giant bird laying an egg that became our island, others talked of great dinosaurs and sea monsters. Cody wrote about Orion originally being a giant who fought and lost to Drago the dragon who banished him to the stars. A piece of his shield broke off and became Long Island. There was a great turnout and everyone was really impressed with the amount of original songs the students learned as well as their work on the instruments. Bo and Graham really outdid themselves and we're already looking forward to next year!
