There's been a movement building for many years stressing the importance of children spending time in nature. At Frenchboro School, we don't believe that the classroom is within the walls of our one room schoolhouse. With an island as beautiful as ours, why stay inside?? This year we have done a lot of nature journaling, research, and are currently helping to gather information on the local reptile/amphibian population for a scientist who is rewriting a field guide to Maine wildlife. Within our island classroom, there is so much to explore and be inspired by!
