Thanks to the wonderful folks at Healthy Acadia and the MDI YMCA, I had the opportunity to apply for a grant to start a community garden/composting project. We recently found that our project was fully funded! Very exciting. I wasted no time going off island to purchase our tools, rototiller and grow unit. I hadn't put in for seed money, having heard that some companies donate outdated seed packets to projects like ours. Well....today a box from Johnny's Select Seeds arrived with 55 seed packets! It's very humbling and inspirational to have such generosity bestowed upon your classroom. So...thanks to all you wonderful folks out there that are making dreams become a reality!
